First Edition. [Illustrated Satire] FIRST EDITION with fine colour plates. Oblong quarto (23 x 30cm), unpaginated. 36 chromolithographic plates, each with a facing leaf of explanation. Publisher's cream buckram, with titles and decoration blocked to upper in black, white, red, blue and gilt. Heavy spotting to half-title, and moderate spotting to text leaves throughout. Endpapers quite heavily toned. Toning and light wear to cloth, with some insect activity to spine and top edge of boards. Very good. A gently humorous view of the European tourist in late-nineteenth-century Egypt.…
