Exhibition catalog. Wrappers, large square format. A catalog devoted to the color woodcuts of Arthur Wesley Dow. Fine condition. Dow was born in Ipswich and founded an art school there. Dow found inspiration in Japanese woodblock prints, and in these gorgeous wood blocks coastal Massachusetts practically becomes a province of Japan.

The Capa collection is particularly deep and interesting, including besides his better known war photography photographs of Jewish refugees in Palestine and life in postwar Japan. Bilingual essays in Japanese and English on Capa by Shintaro Matsunaga, Alao Yokogi, and Taro Amano. Preface by Museum director Eriko Osaka. Text of the volume on Gerda Taro entirely in Japanese. Folio, [92pp]. Glossy white paper covers, title in black on front cover and spine. Decorated with silver foil under print on both covers. No additional printings listed. Solid text block, light sunning to spine, otherwise fine condition. In the publisher's slipcase, with light wear to corners and small stains to panels. Edges remain strong, a very good example. Complete with 54 photographs and 2 gatefolds. (Parr & Badger, p. 252). Nothing Personal, released at the height of the Civil Rights Movement, pairs Baldwin's broad critique of American society with Avedon's bare-bone portraits to yield a unique, juxtaposing piece. A rare collectible.

Contains 17 superb mounted colour plates on card stock followed by 12 printed pages of descriptive Czech text by Dr. Alois Kolísek. Separately enclosed is a card showing number 16 of 16 and explaining about the separate image from the great three colour reproduction neotypie, this is mounted on white card and is loosely inserted. Foxing to the end papers and page text, no foxing to the mounted plates, neat repairs to the card covers, damp stain to the top front cover. Extremely scarce. Member of the P.B.F.A.
