This book examines several of his recent commissions stage by stage from initial concept to finished painting, and also looks into the background of earlier works by means of sketches and drawings and discussion of the ideas and eternal forces that shaped them. In the course of this many useful tips for the budding illustrator are dropped and it becomes clear that Achilleos has achieved that balance which artists in all fields aim for but rarely attain - the ability to achieve through hard work and perseverance an excellence that seems effotless and almost casual on first acquaintance. Illustrated. 144 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.).…
