Based on Jean Webster's 1912 novel. Millionaire Jervis Pendleton III (Astaire) is the unknown benefactor of French orphan girl Julie (Caron), financing the girl's education. Moved by Julie's letters of thanks, Pendleton's secretary Alicia (Ritter) advises him to go to France to visit the orphan. When he arrives, he finds that Julie is almost a grown woman, and the two fall in love. Set in France, shot on location in New York. Nominated for 3 Academy Awards. 8 x 10 inches. Rainbow Revision Draft script for the eighteenth episode of the first season of the 1987-1989 ABC television series, which aired on March 16, 1988. Script labeled copy number 3 on the front wrapper and title page. Created by Steven Bochco and Terry Louise Fisher (the creators of "L.A. Law"), "Hooperman" premiered on ABC on September 9, 1987 and aired for two seasons and fourty two episodes, ending on July 19, 1989. John Ritter stars as San Francisco police Inspector Harry Hooperman, who inherits the rundown apartment building he lives in and a temperamental Jack Russell terrier when his elderly landlady is killed in a robbery, and hires Susan Smith, played by Debrah Farentino, to manage the building, and with whom he becomes romantically involved. In this episode Hooperman enlists the aid of an eccentric pilot in a child runaway case, and becomes concerned that Inspector McNeil's eye problems could possibly put them both at risk. Gray titled 20th Century-Fox wrappers. Title page present, dated August 06, 1987, with credits for screenwriter Rick Kellard. 40 leaves, with last page of text numbered 31. Laid in are three call sheets, each with a map and directions to the day's shoot on the verso, and a gathering of five Xerographically reproduced revision pages, staple-bound to the top left corner. John Ritter stars as a fledgling comedian whose girlfriend, Susan Dey, has had enough, and demands that he get a real job. After getting job as a limo driver he becomes embroiled in shifty million dollar stamp heist with one of his clients, played by Martin Short. Set in and shot on location in Los Angeles and San Diego, California. Untitled ITC Productions wrappers. Title page present, dated April 14, 1983, noted as SECOND DRAFT, with credits for screenwriters Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. 109 leaves, with last page of text numbered 105. Xerographic duplication, rectos only, with blue, pink, and yellow revision pages throughout, dated variously between 4/27/83 and 5/3/83.
