Sie arbeitet die Ambivalenz männlicher Tanzmuster und Selbstdarstellungspraktiken im Dancehall heraus und zeigt, wie jene eindeutig heteronormativ gründen in der kolonialen Geschichte Jamaicas. Hierfür greift sie zum einen auf Judith Butlers Performativitätstheorie zurück, zum anderen auf tanzwissenschaftliche Verfahren der semiotischen Videoanalyse. Objekt der Betrachtung ist die Video-Aufbereitung einer Dancehall-Party in Kingston, Jamaika.
