"Andhra Pradesh, one of the 28 states of India, lies between 12o37 and 19o54' N latitudes and 76o46' and 84o46'E longitudes. The state is endowed with a variety of vegetation ranging from semi evergreen forests to dry evergreen scrub and littoral mangroves to arid sand dunes. A total of 86 species of pteridophytes under 48 genera and 28 families have been enumerated in the book.
