Illustrated with fourteen coloured plates and thirty-three woodcuts. Professor Johnson Symington was a lecturer on anatomy at the School of Medicine in Edinburgh. A highly praised and well recognised anatomist and zoologist, Symington served as both the President of the Ulster Medical Society and late as the President of the Anatomical Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
