All first editions except for 'High Protein', which is a second impression copy.Offering a variety of wholesome recipes across these four cookbooks.In the original yellow cloth bindings and all published by Andre Deutsch, forming a pleasing uniform set.Cream, Butter and Wine by Sybil Goffinet (1955) - A very scarce first edition copy of this work. With recipes including lemon omelette souffle, stuffed peaches, lobster thermidor, boeuf bourguignon and duchesse potatoes.The High Protein Diet and Cookery Book by Theodora Fitzgibbon and Michael Hemans (1959) - With a list of foods allowed and not allowed in the proposed diet, as well as a series of debunked fallacies about slimming. Fitzgibbon was an Irish cookery writer, model and actress.Cooking Afloat by Molly Graham (1963) - A unique guide to cooking on the water, with hints on galley equipment and entertaining afloat. With recipes utilising largely canned ingredients, such as caramel custard, canned pork pie, meat curry and meat cakes.Balkan Cooking by Robin Howe (1965) - Exploring a range of Balkan cuisine, with recipes such as mussels fried in batter, lamb soup, tuna fish in marinade, paprika chicken and dumplings. In the original cloth bindings. Externally, very smart, with minor handling marks to majority of boards, with more notable damp marks to the boards of 'High Protein'. Minor shelf wear across the set. Fading to the spines of 'Cream' and 'High Protein'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers of 'Cream'. Scattered spots largely concentrated to the first and last few pages of 'High Protein', as well as to the fore-edge, affecting the occasional margins. Ownership bookplate tipped-in to the front free endpapers of all but 'Balkan'. Very Good. book.
