They feature attractive aspects of the book, in this case, a volume set, with engraving prints, type set, and paper samples. This volume includes various home remedies and home health care instruction. Includes chapters on basic physiology, exercise, nutrition, diseases--albeit sample sections. Quite interesting to the volume during Cold War era, a section on first aid emergencies including nuclear fallout, atom bomb blasting survival. A rare example of home health featuring 1950s aesthetics and situations, with the alternative binding cloth pasted on the rear board in green. Hubert Oscar Swartout ( pinyin S Q ngx n) served as a schoolteacher in Michigan, followed by a decade of teaching and editing in China. When he returned to America, he became a physician, an author of medical books, and an administrator as County Health officer in Los Angeles.
