The liberalization of the 1990s and the subsequent policies and processes initiated in infrastructure spheres saw many economies of Asia setting up regulatory agencies. SAARC countries in particular have undergone significant infrastructure reforms following the worldwide trend of sector specific legislation mandating independent regulators. Regulatory Law in Practice Compendium of orders in electricity and telecom sectors is thus a pioneering publication containing summary orders and judgements of electricity and telecom regulators in India. By giving an overview of both the electricity and telecom sectors the compendium presents succinct summaries of the decisions of regulators and courts in SAFIR countries.
