Soft cover. Zustand: New. This volume brings to readers the thoughtful voice of Subhas Chandra Bose as he spoke to audiences of students and youth across the country during the months that he was out of prison between 1929 and February 1933. It was in 1929 that Jatindranath Das a young associate of Bhagat Singh died in Lahore Ja…il after a hunger strike. Jatin had served in the Congress volunteer corps in 1928 under Subhas, who took charge of the funeral rites. In October 1929 Subhas journeyed from Calcutta to Lahore to deliver a message of complete emancipation to the Punjabi students conference, lauding Jatin s sacrifice. On his return to Calcutta Bose was arrested and on 23 January 1930, the day he turned thirty-three, he was imprisoned on charges of sedition. From behind bars Bose watched with admiration as Gandhi made his next moves towards civil disobedience. These are among the many fascinating episodes that comprise this volume, which shows Subhas emerging as a pan-Indian leader in his own right, and as the only real spokesman of the Left. (jacket).

Between his resignation as Congress President in Calcutta on 29 April 1939 and his escape from his Elgin Road home on the night of 16-17 January 1941, Subbas Chandra Bose provided India with an alternative leadership in place of the old guard represented by the Gandhian High Command. His altemative was…based on a commitment to anti-imperialism and future socialism. This volume brings together the writings and speeches of a crucial phase in Bose's political life immediately prior to his emergence as the Netaji of lndia's army of liberation. The themes dealt with here include the role of the left within the Indian independence movement, the Second World War as a conflict between rival imperialisms and the need for Hindu Muslim unity and Congress Muslim League understanding.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Language: English. About The Book: "Through Congress Eyes" by Subhas Chandra Bose is a critical examination of the Indian National Congress and its strategies during the struggle for independence. In this work, Bose articulates his vision for a more assertive approach to achieving freedom from British ru…le, contrasting with the more moderate strategies favored by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi. He emphasizes the need for unity among various factions and advocates for a more radical stance against colonial oppression. Bose's reflections provide insight into his political philosophy and reveal his commitment to Indian nationalism, highlighting the urgency and importance of decisive action in the independence movement. About The Author: Subhas Chandra Bose (18971945) was an influential Indian nationalist whose fierce opposition to British rule made him a revered figure among many Indians. Known as 'Netaji' (Respected Leader), a title first bestowed in Germany in 1942, Bose's legacy is complex due to his alliances with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, which raised concerns over authoritarianism and anti-Semitism. Born into a wealthy Bengali family during the British Raj, he initially pursued a civil service career but chose nationalism instead. He became president of the Indian National Congress in 1938, later resigning amid ideological conflicts. The Title 'Through Congress Eyes written/authored/edited by Subhas C. Bose', published in the year 2024. The ISBN 9789367807286 is assigned to the Paperback version of this title. This book has total of pp. 253 (Pages).
