First edition, 1/100 specially bound copies that include a signed original lithograph by Wengenroth. 4to. 295 pp. Marginal vignettes, 344 illustrations for the lithographs made by Wengenroth from 1931 through 1972, illustrated endpapers. Wengenroth (1906-1908), a native New Yorker, is best known for his detailed depictions of the landscapes and seascapes of New England and was referred to by Andrew Wyeth as "America's greatest living artist working in black and white." Edges foxed, a little interior foxing, bookplate on front pastedown, but a very good copy. Black quarter-leather and marbled boards, slipcase with illustrated label on upper board (corners dinged, browned). (#4719).
