'This book offers an edition [In Judaeo-Arabic Hebrew Letters] and translation [English] of Dawud ibn Marwan al-Muqammis's hitherto unpublished 'Ishrun Maqala, the earliest extant work of Jewish philosophy in Arabic and one of the earliest extant Kalam works.' (From the Introduction) 'Al-Muqammas's pioneering work is of importance not only for the history of Jewish philosophy but also for the study of the emergence of the thought of Kalam theology in the Islamicate in general.
