First Edition. 20.5 x 15cm. Oblong paperback with maroon fabric covers, unpaginated [40pp]. An adventurously produced limited edition illustrated artist's book exploring the philosophy of 'grazing' applied to life, with various paper types and typefaces. This copy is numbered 25 of 30, signed by P.H. Strong on rear page. Writer Martha Barron Barrett created the text which first appeared in the Ellsworth American local newspaper, whilst artist Peggy Heigold Strong designed the book, printed on a 1950 Vandercook No. 4 proof press using hand-set type "rescued from the attic of the Ellsworth American". This is stated to be book number three in the Goodenough Art series, all of which are rare.
