cartonato. Zustand: Good. in-folio (240x327 mm), pp. VIII, 69, in fine, 6 grandi tavole su doppia pagina f.t. incise in rame (la prima più volte ripiegata); legatura coeva cartonato rustico. Prima edizione di quest'opera dedicata al rinvenimento dell'antico teatro romano di Padova chiamato "Zairo", avvenuto nel 1775 durante i lavori coi quali l'architetto Domenico Cerato progettò e realizzò la grande Piazza di Prato della Valle. Lo Stratico racconta dettagliatamente la scoperta, cercando, inoltre, di ridare vita a quella vecchia struttura che un tempo conteneva 6800 spettatori e che era stata in gran parte distrutta durante il Rinascimento, periodo in cui aveva avuto la funzione di magazzino per materiali edili, utili per la costruzione della chiesa di S. Giustina e per il Ponte di Rialto di Venezia. Nell'ultima parte dell'opera l'autore confronta la capienza dei teatri antichi, critica il saggio di Sander "On theatre" e termina con una breve storia dell'architettura teatrale moderna. In-folio (cm. 31,7), brossura con rinforzo marmorizzato al dorso, pp. VIII 69 [9] in buono stato, con 6 tavole illustrative ripiegate fuori testo in fine; poche fioriture, piccolo stemma araldico a secco al frontespizio. Prima edizione di quest'opera dedicata al rinvenimento dell'antico teatro romano di Padova chiamato Zairo (1775). L'architetto racconta la sua scoperta e ricostruisce il funzionamento dell'antica struttura che un tempo conteneva secondo lui 6400 spettatori, per poi essere in gran parte distrutta durante il Rinascimento, periodo in cui aveva avuto la funzione di magazzino per materiali edili. Nell'ultima parte dell'opera l'autore confronta la capienza dei teatri antichi e termina con una breve storia dell'architettura teatrale moderna. Cfr. Cicognara 800. Buon esemplare. (SD3).
