In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Original Dustjacket. - (illustrator). FIRST EDITION & FIRST PRINTING. [Rare British Publication] - Thelma L. Strabel (19 December 1900 to 28 May 1959) was an American novelist who specialized in tales of the American South and sea adventures. - Her best known story, Reap the Wild Wind, is a romantic saga of the wreckers in and around Key West, Florida. - This book was published before Cecil B DeMille bought the novel and, with numerous alterations, produced a popular movie version starring Paulette Goddard and John Wayne in 1942. - Strabel was so enamored of Key West and its unique history that she built a house there following the sale of the story to The Saturday Evening Post in 1940. - The house, located at 400 South Street, was described by Strabel, not without argument, as the southernmost house in the United States. - CONDITION: The beautifully vibrant original dustjacket accompanies this book. It has been price-clipped to the inner prelim. Few small chips, top and bottom of spine and four corners. Few small closed edge tears. Rubbing on the folds and soiling is apparent to the lighter areas. The images were taken prior to housing the dustjacket in an archival sleeve. Red cloth boards with black lettering to the spine. Lightly soiled at the extremities but hardly noticable. Otherwise a very nice condition and firmly bound to inner page block. 252 pages are clean and tightly bound. Page bottoms are roughcut. - Our orders are shipped within 1 or 2 business days. Thanks for your interest.
