Illustrated with b&w photographs & line drawings. Green boards, spine & upper board titled in black. Price 5s. 0d. Boards and jacket slightly stained, jacket spine-faded & rubbed but complete and unclipped, end-papers slightly browned. Good in good jacket. I believe this is the first edition, with a cover illustration of a sprig of yew. The Observer's Book of Observer's Books seems to be contradictory, referring to ".the rather impressionistic foliage," which was taken from an earlier Warne book, but using as an example of 1930s colour printing a picture of an edition with an oak tree. The bibliography within the book uses this (yew foliage) image. .
