In 1975 President Gerald Ford named this jurist to fill the enormous shoes left by U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice William O. Douglas, a position he filled until 2010 -- making him the third longest-serving Supreme Court justice ever. Bold full signature in blue ballpoint on a heavy stock 4½" X 3½" cream stock card with printed "Supreme Court of the United States / Washington, D.C. 20543" in Gothic typeface at top and "Chambers of / Justice John Paul Stevens" smaller at upper left. Fine. A superb example.
