Presentation copy of an Early Draft script for the Hungarian film, released in Hungry in 1932 as "Tavaszi zapor," in Frace in 1933 as "Marie, Legende Hongroise," and in the United States in 1935 as "Spring Shower." Housed in a (likely hand-sewn) floral cloth-covered portfolio, the script is INSCRIBED by the Hungarian-American feminist and radical socialist screenwriter Ilona Fulop on the title page: "To Mac: / Because You still trust me! / Ilona / Christmas, 1929 / Hollywood, Cal." A unique and attractive item, and probably the only surviving copy of the script. The story of a poor girl driven out of her village when she becomes pregnant by her employer's wealthy fiance, finding refuge working as a maid in a brothel. After her daughter is taken from her, however, she falls into alcoholism and dies. A maid in Heaven as she was on earth, she saves her daughter from befalling a similar fate by "emptying her mop bucket" on her daughter's head via a rain shower at a pivotal moment. A multinational production in which a Hungarian screenwriter and Hungarian director, both with experience in Hollywood, shot a film starring a French actress using frozen assets from a French producer that had been mandated for exclusively Hungarian use. Though not a box office success at the time, it is now regarded as one of the all-time great films originating from the country. In a 1919 article entitled "What is 'Revolution' Doing to Love?," screenwriter Fulop describes herself as a socialist radical, as opposed to a revolutionary or a Bolshevik, and her desire to further equal rights for women strongly defines her as a modern-day feminist as well. "Spring Showers," with its women- and proletarian-friendly plot, thus comes as little surprise. Housed in floral cloth-covered portfolio titled wrappers. Title page present, with credits for screenwriter Fulop. 78 leaves, with last page of text numbered 77. Carbon typescript. Pages Very Good, portfolio Very Good, bound with a single line of hand-stitching.

Collection of six vintage film still photographs (three of which are borderless) from the French release of the groundbreaking 1982 film. Featuring an image of Jeff Bridges and Cindy Morgan in their Grid bodysuits as well as various images of computer graphics that represent the Grid. Jeff Bridges plays a game designer who ends up in the very game he's been programming, and who must defeat the computer-generated image of his money-grubbing employer. The pinnacle of computer graphics technology at the time, a hybrid of back-lit live action and computer-generated visuals, "TRON" was one of the first of many films to reflect the burgeoning video game craze of the 1980s. The creation of these hybrid graphics took the work of at least four distinct graphics firms, with over 550 people involved in post-production work. While critically acclaimed for its flashy visual spectacle, "TRON" fared more poorly at the box office than the studio expected, though in time the film would escape its cult status and become the highly-lauded landmark in science fiction film history that it had always been. Nominated for two Academy Awards. Shot on location in California. 7 x 9.5 inches. Fine condition.

Kunst / Grafik / Poster
Original British quad poster for the 1982 US film. Printed in England by W.E. Berry. Spielberg's multimillion dollar family fantasy, about a boy and the extraterrestrial he befriends. Elliott (Thomas), is a young boy who plays Dungeons and Dragons and lives with his mom (Wallace), his sister (a seven year-old Barrymore), and his brother (Robert McNaughton), in a typical American suburb-typical, until they meet E.T., an alien life-form with a sweet tooth who wants to return to his home planet. Elliott meets the alien one night and brings it into his home, keeping it a secret from his family and the community. Government agents eventually discover the alien and quarantine Elliott's house, bringing E.T. in for observation. Elliott and the alien have a strong, psychic connection, evidenced by their shared symptoms when E.T. becomes ill. With Elliott's perseverance and E.T.'s alien superpowers, the extraterrestrial returns home, but not before coining a few phrases ("phone home") and taking an iconic flight with Elliott on his bike before a full moon. "E.T." had an unparalleled impact on the culture and even buying habits of the Western world: the phrase "phone home" would become part of the American lexicon (if briefly), and sales for Reese's Pieces (E.T.'s food of choice) skyrocketed in the film's aftermath. Winner of several Academy Awards, with screenwriter Mathison was nominated for several awards, including an Oscar, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, and a Hugo, and won several others, including a Writers Guild of American award and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association award. Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson won a Grammy for their E.T.-inspired 1984 album. Light toning to the verso, and a few small tears, else Near Fine. National Film Registry. Lentz, Science Fiction, Horror & Fantasy Film and Television Credits (Second Edition, 2001), volume 2 US.
