Este libro se fundamenta en la psicología clínica y en la terapia de artes creativas para identificar cuatro operaciones que realizaban los vencidos al cantar con la Piquer en la radio: " hacían el papel " de un personaje ficticio, participaban en un " ritual " , creaban una " narrativa " y creaban " música " . El libro analiza en detalle seis de las coplas más famosas de la Piquer a la luz de medidas específicas de la represión franquista. La autora propone que al cantar estas coplas con la radio durante décadas, los vencidos pudieron elaborar clandestinamente el duelo, aprendieron recursos para sobrellevar el terror, pudieron recuperarse lentamente del trauma y recuperaron la dignidad personal. Finalmente, propone que en los años cuarenta, estas coplas cumplieron una función simbólica análoga a la que hoy tienen las exhumaciones de las fosas comunes: permitían a los vencidos elaborar sin peligro un duelo prohibido por el régimen y declarar su lealtad a la memoria de los fusilados que el régimen intentaba borrar. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
