The first edition, first impression of the work in book format, with no further impressions stated. According to the author's note, the essays that formed this work first appeared in The Speaker, The Star, The Illustrated London News, and The Sketch.Richard Le Gallienne is perhaps most famous for his affair and intimate correspondence with Oscar Wilde, however he was also the author of a number of prose, poetry, and journalistic pieces in his own right.Prose Fanciesis a collection of Gallienne's prose and essayistic pieces including 'A Conspiracy of Silence', 'Fractional Humanity', and 'Apollo's Market'. Bound in full navy blue cloth. Externally, generally smart with some minor handling marks and discolouration of the cloth, heaviest to the spine and fore edge. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. Previous owner's neat inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, binding is strained at the centre however elsewhere is generally sound. Pages are for the most part bright and clean barring light age toning and the occasional spot or light mark, heaviest to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed. book.
