Neat book stamp mark from the previous owner, opposite preface page. There is gilt on the top edge of the block and on the spine and front cover, with decoration. Frontispiece. The boards are stained and a touch edge worn, with a small frayed piece on the top edge of the spine. On pages 269 to 272 there is a small chipped piece missing on the edge of the page and there is foxing around the block and on the early and last few pages, little within the body of the book.
