Best wishes, Jimmy Starr. March 19 1980." Starr was an American screenwriter and columnist active in Hollywood during the 1930s and 1940s. The present novel was the basis for the 1947 Columbia Pictures film (of the same title) starring George Brent and Joan Blondell.
