Zustand: Gut. 84 S., mit 2 Karten, 175 g - Buch in gutem Zustand: Einband sorgfältig in Selbstklebefolie eingeschlagen, obere Rückenkante bestoßen, k e i n e Lesefalten im Rücken, Bindung fest, Seitenschnitt sowie zwei Seiten im Buch gering angeschmutzt, keinerlei Eintragungen oder Unterstreichungen, obere Seitenecken gering angestoßen (siehe auch meine Fotos) [vh] --- über dieses Buch: Im Binnatal (Wallis), im Wildbachgraben des Lengenbachs, zirka eine Stunde hinter dem Dörfchen Binn, liegt eine weltbekannte Mineralfundstelle. In der Blütezeit des bergmännischen Mineralienabbaus, in den Jahren 1900 bis 1912, konnten viele Museen und wissenschaftliche Institute der ganzen Welt mit Belegmaterial aus dieser einzigartigen Grube beliefert werden. Später zerfiel die Lagerstätte langsam, und Mineralfunde wurden zur Seltenheit. Erst 1958 erwachte die Grube aus ihrem Dornröschenschlaf, als die "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Lengenbach" durch ihren technischen Leiter und Konzessionär Jos. Imhof (Ried-Brig und Binn) die Fundstelle von Schutt säuberte und erneut für den Mineralienabbau herrichtete. Am Zustandekommen dieser Arbeitsgemeinschaft war das Naturhistorische Museum Bern massgebend beteiligt, und bis heute ist es der finanzkräftigste Teilhaber der Interessengemeinschaft geblieben. So war es ihm möglich, in den letzten Jahren eine ganz beachtliche Sammlung der äusserst seltenen Mineralarten des Lengenbachs aufzubauen. Mit der Neueröffnung der Grube setzte am Mineralogisch-petrographischen Institut der Universität Bern, das von Anfang an ebenfalls Teilhaber der Arbeitsgemeinschaft war, eine intensive wissenschaftliche Untersuchung des kostbaren Fundgutes ein.
