For Stadler registers here his objections to the kind of research that has been done on the gene and its actions, points out some of the basic fallacies of current concepts in his opinion, and indicates ways and means through which a changed viewpoint might be developed. But his ideas are provocative, and his recommendations deserve to be tested" (Peters). - Zu II: "This paper and the report of the Genetics Conference point a new direction for genetic thought.
