Edges and corner show bumps and wear as well. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Front end page shows previous owners info dated 1855. Also written on front end page in parentheses in pencil) "One of the books we took of Mrs. Carathers at the start of the war". Presumably this is the Civil War. Front pastedown has "ba" written in the corner and second end page contains an 1861 date in the second owner signature - also written in pencil. No other handwriting found. Pages are toned due to age spotting/foxing is present throughout. Some pages have large spots, some are toned, and some barely have any issues. This book contains seven different essays by various authors, with the full titles being as follows: "The Constitution Of Man Considered In Relation To External Objects" (61 pp.) by George Combe / "Essays In A Series Of Letters, On The Following Subjects: On A Man's Writing Memoirs Of Himself.
