Anders Johan Lexell's life and discoveries" (Basel: Birkhäuser, 2014), par le présent auteur, Johan Stén. La correspondance de Lexell s'étend de 1768 jusqu n 1783. Le présent recueil contient presque toutes les lettres connues écrites de la main de Lexell conservées dans plusieurs archives et bibliothèques à travers l'Europe, à l exception de quelques-unes déja publiées ailleurs. On peut consulter ce volume en tant qu'un document intime et un journal d'une pérégrination scientifque, ou bien comme un miroir de l'histoire des sciences et de la culture du XVIII siècle. Il donne un aperçu unique des pensées d'un savant issu de la périphérie et de son évolution dans la capitale impériale de Russie et les autres grands centres intellectuels de I'Europe des Lumières.
