The first issue of this 'little magazine,' featuring poetry by Paul Blackburn, Robert Duncan, Gary Snyder, Diane Wakoski and others. The art by Spero portrays images of war and is perhaps (though not attributed in the magazine) from her War Series. Caterpillar was a noted little magazine devoted to giving voice to underrepresented and experimental poets and writers (see Anderson and Kinzie) as well as work in visual arts, film, etc (Clay and Phillips p. 125). GOOD+ condition. Wrappers browned along the spine, with minor staining to the rear cover. Minor soiling, scuffing and edgewear. Interior clean and solid.
