Half bound in black leather over brown pebbled cl…oth, gilt decorations and gilt titles on spine. Speckled edges and coloured endpapers. 4to. Leather is a little rubbed on edges - quite heavily so on corners - frayed at spine head, with the occasional mild mark. Previous owner's name neatly inked on the front paste down. A little spotting and toning on first and last few true leaves else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. The Quiver was a weekly and then monthly magazine published between 1861 and 1956 and 'designed for the defence and promotion of biblical trust and the advance of religion in the homes of the people'. It contained a mix of stories, articles, reviews, songs and activities designed to be of an uplifting nature. This volume includes the children's story Fireman Nap by K E Vernham.
