This exemplified by their comment on lot 294 (Morse's Portrait of Henry Clay): "this facsimile does injustic…e to this picture which was truly a splendid one. The background was a yellow sunset flush. The story of the $10,000 offer we do not credit" Last line of pencil notes trimmed at p.33. Moisture mark to front lower fore edge pages and lower part of last eight pages. iv, 152 pages; describing 953 lots together with many illustrations, some of which are folding.
