In den Warenkorbhardcover. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Sonja Trabandt's project BEFANGEN deals with the personal desire of breaking free from social norms, cultural or social barriers or even evolutionary processes. Strong colors meet surrealistic abstracted metaphors of vague human feelings. There is no stringent storyline, no continuous series. The book's layout shows a flow of subsequent and interwoven images. They create bright disharmonies with neither a question nor an answer. With her intuitive imagery Trabandt invites the viewer into her slightly melancholic wonderland, depicting her very personal idea of freedom.
Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - For the book Unverbunden (Unconnected), Trabandt has collected staged and documentary photographs, produced between 2005 and 2012, and combined them in order to juxtapose her world of theatrical exaggeration against the prosaic grimness of everyday life realities. These images reflect impressions drawn from Trabandt's sceptical observation of her surroundings and, taken as a whole, spring from her frequently recurring notion that no one is actually connected to anyone else. That the pursuit of happiness is only a hormone-driven selfishness that has controlled us since primeval times and every quest for connection is doomed to failure due to this pervasive, animal-like compulsiveness. While they are not exactly romantic, these photographic confrontations are not as bleak as one might think. If nothing else, they serve to illustrate that a mutual feeling of unconnectedness is, in itself, a connection.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Every year around five hundred thousand people in Germany contract cancer. Almost half of the people who fall ill eventually die of it, and despite all medical progress the diagnosis is still extremely traumatic for anyone. In Tomorrow Snow photographer Sonja Trabandt accompanies her friend A.'s battle with cancer. She approaches the illness in a sensitive and documentary visual narrative style as she follows her friend from the initial diagnosis through all phases of the disease and the associated emotions. The story can be read on several levels, ranging from the fear of treatment, existential worries, and budding hope to the decisive moment of hair loss and femininity. A.'s coping with everyday life is juxtaposed with feelings such as fear, euphoria, sadness, and the depression following treatments. The photographic perspectives range from analytically staged images to emotional descriptions of the state of mind. Trabandt's pictures enable the viewer to become familiar with the topic of cancer beyond the moments of shock and fear and to deal with the disease in a meaningful way.; (Please scroll down for English version) Jedes Jahr erkranken rund 500.000 Menschen in Deutschland an Krebs. Every year around five hundred thousand people in Germany contract cancer.
