As with the other copies of this title that we have the interior binding is tight like the book was never used, but with this copy the condition grade was lowered because of scuffing and bumping to the exterior wraps. The exterior spine is still uncracked but the rear cover has corner bumps that show creases as does the front cover which also has a bit of curl to it. No handwriting other markings on any of the pages. At the time of this listing we had multiple copies of this title, each one has been listed separately with their own set of photos and descriptions. We acquired a large collection of chess books over 40 years ago, most of which were kept packed away until the time of this listing.

Soft cover. Zustand: Near Fine. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original 1972 publication that was purchased but appears to have never been used. The binding is very tight and the exterior shows only light bumping, similar to what you would see with a new book the store. There is some toning to the cover and minor corner bumps along with some light scuffing. The interior is pristine with no handwriting or any other markings, no remainder marks etc. At the time of this listing we had multiple copies of this title, each one has been listed separately with their own set of photos and descriptions. There are marks and discolouring wear on the red cloth which look like it has come from the dust jacket, as a previous owner has slipped a newspaper cutting inside the dust jacket, why, no idea. Dust jacket included with sellotaped transparent covering over jacket. Please see images. Normal wear and tear apply consistent with use and age. All 224 pages intact, all pages, text and illustrations are in good, clean, readable order. First published in the USSR, English translation 1971, this particular book is third impression 1975. A really good book and defintely a book to have in the home library if you are a chess historian or just a lover of the beautiful game of chess.
