This book is the third volume in a series intended to describe for members of the Army cost analysis community the methodology and techniques available and those being applied to the range of problems relevant to that community. This volume considers the decision process in the Department of defense and its impact on Army plans. The role of Army plans is then addressed in terms of the economic decisions that must be made and the form and types of economic analysis used to support these decisions. This is an increasingly scarce example of Department of Defense/Department of the Army cost analysis during a period of increasing intensity during the Vietnam War.
