The edges of the covers are slightly soiled and the head o…f the spine is very lightly chipped. 150 & [2] consecutively numbered pages. These 6 issues are each illustrated with full-page color cover illustrations, numerous textual and full-page monochrome illustrations and a total of 9 tipped-in color plates, including works by Dan Smith, L.F. Conry, H.B. Eddy, Rollin Kirby, J. Stuart Blackton, T.C. Viall, and E.F. Foley, among others. The front hinge is cracked and the corners of a couple of the tipped-in plates are creased. Very good. As early as 1896, a group of Greenwich Village artists, poets and other artistic and literary personalities were meeting weekly at Maria Del Prato's Italian restaurant on MacDougal Street. The group, which became known as The Pleaides Club, included Paul Du Chaillu, Mark Twain, Stephen Crane, William Garrison, Clara Louise Kellogg and other luminaries among its early members. As it grew and needed larger quarters, the group first moved to the Black Cat then to the Hungaria, eventually settling in at the Hotel Brevoort in 1906. The club's mission was simply to provide a convivial and friendly audience to inexperienced artists through its weekly meetings and publication of their work in its yearbook, The Pleiad.

Copy belonging to actor Tom Irish, with his name in green manuscript ink on the front wrapper and notation in green ink to a single page. Irish played an uncredited bit part named "Biff." In 1958, veteran vaudeville comedian Ed Wynn, creator of the… innovative live skit-based 1949 television show of the same name, tried his hand at a third television series: a short-lived sitcom that would last only one season. Though Wynn was one of few beloved vaudevillians to make a successful transition to the small screen, with his first show featuring high profile Hollywood guests and winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Live Show in 1950, his success would not last indefinitely. As television grew, he would shift towards more serious dramatic roles. The 1958 iteration of "The Ed Wynn Show" would be the last series he put his name on before taking a spate of guest appearances and dramatic roles in various television shows and films. The covers are slightly rubbed and scuffed and the head of the spine is slightly chipp…ed. 140 pages printed in 2 colors, with a decorative title page, head pieces and initial letters printed in orange, and profuse textual and full-page illustrations, including a frontispiece by Robert Selfe Ament, and works by James Montgomery Flagg, Dan Smith, Anthony H. Euwer, Herb Roth, and James Swinnerton, among others. The top corner of the first few leaves is lightly creased or bumped. Very good. Number 449 of a limited De Luxe edition of 500 numbered copies. Includes a poem by the fantasy writer Abraham Merritt titled "Old Trinity Churchyard 5 a.m. Spring (Cats! That's All!)" with an illustration by George Kerr, Edwin Markham's poem "The Face", Frank L.
