Leather is edgeworn, faded, scuffed and stained, but is still holding together perfectly well. Original hinges still intact. Ownership name on front endpaper in blue ink says 'John Bush MD Vassalboro Maine, Great grandfather of Mrs. Margaret Bush Higgins Townsend Mass.' Title page dated 1812. xlvii + 411 pages. Paper toned from age, but text block tight, pages clean. A few illustrations in the text. Benjamin Rush signed the Declaration of Independence on behalf of Pennsylvania along with Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, George Clymer and a handful of others.
