Description Limited Special Edition, one of only 250 copies printed. Liverpool; Henry Young & Sons, 1899. Edited by William Fergusson Irvine, with preface, historical introduction, and scholarly notes, and illustrated with plates and maps. Scarce in the original two-volume issue, particularly as a complete numbered limitation, making it a desirable example of late nineteenth-century Liverpool historiography and antiquarian scholarship. Sir Edward Moore's seventeenth-century manuscript account, written in 1667-8, provides a rare contemporary record of Liverpool during the reign of Charles II, offering first-hand observations on the town's governance, society, and early development.
