Vintage mailer for "Zoot," a performance by Zoot Sims and his ensemble, for the third performance of the Church of the Heavenly Rest's fourth "Heavenly Jazz Concert" season, Sunday, February 3, 1980. Sims ensemble includes Lee Konitz, Tommy Flanagan, Red Mitchell, Joe Cohn, and Mike De Pasqua. The Heavenly Jazz Concert series were held at the Church of the Heavenly Rest to benefit the Day School (which adjoins the church). John Haley "Zoot" Sims was a prolific tenor, alto, and soprano saxophonist who recorded over 100 albums from the 1950s until his death in 1985. Among the musicians Sims recorded with include Pepper Adams, Chet Baker, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Al Cohen, Miles Davis, Benny Goodman, Quincy Jones, Gerry Mulligan, and Sarah Vaughan, among others. 8 x 13.5 inches. Very Good plus, with two horizontal creases from mailing, with starting at the right of the lower crease, and some light creasing overall.
