Simms matthew ed (2 Ergebnisse)

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. First Edition. (pictorial boards; no dust jacket, as issued) [nice clean as-new book, very slight bump at top of spine]. (color and B&W photographs, facsimiles) Published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name, organized by the University Art Museum at Cal State University, Long Beach, this volume "explores a body of Irwin's work that is interdisciplinary in scope and bilingual in form. Irwin is a visual artist in dialogue with the canon of art, and as such, art is the primary language of this work. But architecture is a close second. Like architecture, Irwin's site-determined works are developed and communicated through drawings and models -- abstractions that stand in for real-scale, real-material ideas." In addition to editor (and exhibition curator) Simms's introduction, three essays are included in the book: "From Light and Space to Site-Determined Art" by Simms; "Site Determined: An Unfolding in Time" by Sally Yard; and "The Rest is All Sky: Irwin in Marfa" by Ed Schad. ****NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this somewhat heavy book; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order.****.…
