Simm's monumental work on civil engineering in Great Britain, being one of the most important illustrated works on the subject from the early nineteenth-century. An extensive study of the public works of Great Britain, comprised of: Division I: Railways, Locomotive Engines, and Carriages. Division II: Canals, Wharf Walls, Bridges, and the Docks and port of Liverpool.Division III: Turnpike Roads, Iron, Steel, and Gas Works. Division IV: The Port and Docks of Liverpool.
