Roughly cropped, the autograph is mounted with glue from the verso of the corners onto slightly larger paper likely clipped from an album.…Good. The American stage actress Marie Wainwright (1853-1923) first achieved fame on the Victorian stage. Educated in France, Wainwright made her stage debut in "Romeo and Juliet" and later played the leading female roles opposite Edwin Booth, Lawrence Barrett, and Tommaso Salvani. She had a brief screen career in silent movies late in life.
