Original vintage cruise travel advertising poster for Royal Mail Line featuring a great design by the British maritime artist Kenneth Denton Shoesmith (1890-1939) depicting an ocean liner ship with red funnels and different coloured lights shining from the windows sailing across the choppy blue sea at speed in front of a dynamic bold yellow sky background, two blank yellow and blue information boxes below not filled in with details of the times and destinations, decorated with the diagonal red cross and crown house flag of the company in the corners. Royal Mail Lines (1932-1965) was a leading cruise ship operator formed following the liquidation of The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (founded 1839); in 1965 it was acquired by the British transport operator Furness Withy & Company (1891-1980). Good condition, restored tears, backed on linen. Size: 101x64cm. Kenneth D Shoesmith (illustrator).…
