Chapters XII-XXI, pp. 81-183, relate his impressions of colonial life in Queenston, Hamilton, York, Cobourg, Peterborough, Montreal, Galt, Guelph, Goderich, St. Thomas, Chatham, Amherstburg, the Talbot settlement, the community of the 'Children of Peace', a religious sect founded by David Willson, and along the banks of the Grand River.
