There, in full technicolour printing on cheap paper, expressionless caucasians coupled mechanically. I leafed through the book . I found myself thinking, "If only I could do a Duchamp book like that ." [Shinro Otake]. Two volumes, one in black and white by Tay Teo Chuan, the second in color by Shinro Otake, consisting of cartoons and collages in the scrapbook style he is known for. Some erotic images. In the original decorative slip case; spines sunned. With four sheets loosely inserted, advertising the current work (in English); small card in Japanese with cv's of the 2 authors; a 2 sided card advertising also London/Honcon; and a folding card printed on green paper, completely in Japanese. Ein Künstlerbuch, das 1997 für die Einzelausstellung "Printing/Painting" im CCGA (Contemporary Graphic Arts Center) in Fukushima entstand. Shinro Otake (*1955) führt keine Zeichnung im eigentlichen Sinne aus; alle Seiten bestehen aus bereits existierenden Druckmaterialien und früheren Zeichnungen. Die absurden Cartoons, die durch das Ausschneiden und Einkleben von Comics aus nicht-englischsprachigen Ländern wie Asien und Arabien entstanden sind, erzeugen eine unheimliche Atmosphäre.
