Based on the 1878 novella by Henry James. An intense study in the rules of class boundaries, crossed with American-British dichotomies. Bogdanovich's faithful adaptation of James' story concerns the courtship of a beautiful but flirtatious American girl Daisy Miller (Shepherd) by a sophisticated, upper-class British compatriot named Winterbourne (Brown).
