Boards are little rubbed at edges, some fading especially over spine, gently rounded at corners and spine ends. Slightly foxed on text block edges. Two previous owner's names on front free endpaper. A little cracking of paper over front hinge else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A scarce and early text on the history of fire-fighting. This second edition includes much additional material, Shaw having brought it completely up to date, focussing on changes and developments in the London Metropolitan Fire Brigade.
