They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. Zustand: Good. 1966. First Edition. 192 pages. Illustrated dust jacket over blue cloth covered boards with silver lettering. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Silver lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has light edge-wear with tears and creasing.

1971 2nd impression with numerous B&W illustrations; cover edges slightly yellowed; dust jacket price-clipped, with wear and tear to edges and corners; page fore-edges foxed and yellowed; a few small discolouration spots to pages; bottom corners lightly creased; otherwise, a clean, tidy copy. Used - Very Good. VG hardback in Good dust jacket.
