Valentin Aleksandrovic Serov (1865-1911) war Sohn des Komponisten Alexander Nikolajevich Serov, Schüler der Petersburger Akademie bei Repin und Tschistjakow und zählt zu den besten Vetretern der russischen Porträtkunst.
