Previous owner rubber stamped on front endpaper and pastedown. Previous bookseller on small piece of paper pasted on front pastedown. Remnants of a paper that had been pasted down on front endpaper. Pages are otherwise clean. A couple of loose pages in the middle. Overall, a good reading copy.

Smith & Son of London on the free front endpaper. Illustrated with full-page and in-text drawings with a plethora of plates containing black and white photographs and drawings by the author. Encylopedia Britannica, "Togo Heihachiro: Japanese admiral". Admiral Heihachiro was instrumental in the Japanese victory over the Russians during the Russo-Japanese war. He was highly innovative when it came to naval battle tactics, and for ten years Heihachiro was in charge of the future Emperor Hirohito's education. Wright's memoir provides an entertaining and historically significant account of the Japanese navy and its command. Light foxing to the textblock, one of the plates detached but laid in and present.
