The illustrations are of breath taking beauty and are drawn with a scientific accuracy rarely achieved since. The introduction explains the techniques of the engravers and also provides a short history of the Sepp family and their publishing ventures in 18th century Amsterdam. Just a beautiful book.

The fourth front end paper has an authentic tipped-in monochrome photograph of the boy soldier Josef Allerberger, below which is a dedication in German to the author Albrecht Wacker and SIGNED ''Josef 'Sepp' Allerberger''. Hand written number 6 of 100 Limited Edition copies SIGNED by the author 'Albrecht Wacker' to the title page. In Fine unused and new condition. In 2005, a book titled 'Sniper on the Eastern Front: The Memoirs of Sepp Allerberger, Knight's Cross' was written by Albrecht Wacker based on interviews with Allerberger. The book was noted for suggesting that the Soviets had cannibalised their own comrades' corpses, and graphic depictions of torture. The translation into English is an abridged version of this book 'Im Auge des Jägers'. The first three volumes of this work appeared under the title Der Wehrmachtsscharfschütze Franz Karner, as Allerberger was initially reluctant to be named. Member of the P.B.F.A.
