A privately prepared compilation of prose and poetry writings by Scottish humorist Walter Carruthers Sellar (1898-1951). Some pieces had not previously appeared in print; others are reprinted from Punch, The Queen, The Cherwell and The Fettesian. "We had hoped that the writings which Walter Sellar left at his death in June 1951 would have proved sufficient for a book. This hope has been disappointed; but we feel that some of his friends may like to possess the best of what we have found, even in the inadequate form in which it is here offered to them" (from the preface, signed "H. P. M.," presumably Hugh F. Macdonald, who also compiled this work). Laid in is an article by Macdonald taken from The Oriel Record, "W. C. Sellar and R. J.
